Freelance Work.
I have been lucky to freelance for a number of ethical homewares brands, often going from initial concept all the way to final product.
Teakhaus.
Teakhaus is an FSC® certified manufacturer of kitchen goods. The brief for this project (results shown above) was to create “3-D data and 2-D drawings for the set of 5 items – Flipper, Spatula, Slotted Spatula, Spoon, Angled Spoon – just practical and beautiful.”
Ozarka.
Ark by Ozarka began as a Kickstarter to launch a collection of collapsible silicone food containers. The goal, to remove plastic from the take out food industry without affecting the level of convenience.
“80% of plastic pollution is food packaging. By switching from disposable containers to ARK Reusables, we can make a real difference in reducing food packaging waste. ”
Process:
My initial task was to help with the Kickstarter video and design the carrying case and cutlery to match the first container prototype. I was later responsible for the second prototype and accompanying sauce containers, taking them from concerting through to final prototypes.
Our result ( and the accompanying collection system) has since been trialed on several small businesses in Amsterdam with significant success.
