The Last Drop.

A service that rescues expiring drinks and delivers them straight to your door in a beautifully rebranded box. Every box contains complimentary snacks and limited edition artwork. The webshop of The Last Drop provides easy purchasing and tells the story of beverage waste.

Of all the drinks in the supermarket, 5 to 10 percent go to waste. To avoid paying the price, supermarkets send stock back to the wholesaler two months before expiry, it will stay there until it’s thrown out.

The Product:

We created a cardboard “mystery box” with value added through a digital element. It is versatile, scalable, can work for a wide variety of drinks. The recognisable boxes come in three colours. A yellow alcoholic box, a blue alcohol-free box and a green mixed box. Packaging is made to size and recyclable.

The Webshop:

The Last Drop is a box with a mission and we use our website to sell the product, but also to tell the story.

The webshop of The Last Drop provides easy purchasing and gives transparent insights into the story of beverage waste. This is just the beginning of our mission to drink well and reduce waste, but we can’t do it alone. We are building a community at #thelastdrop. Together we keep drinks from being poured away. One drop at a time.

Research and Strategy:

We worked with “Situated Co-Design” methods, this means that we included our clients in every step of our process through co-creation sessions and weekly meetings.

Alongside this, we also interviewed and surveyed several owners of bars, restaurants and breweries who face the same problem.

We also arranged a focus group of twenty-five people who were representative of our target group: 22 to 40 years old, sustainable and urban living people with above average incomes. Through surveys, user testing and consultations they influenced the drinks selections , packaging, slogans, delivery, colours and even the artwork and recycling information.
